When experiencing a health crisis, it can be emotionally and physically depleting. With the proper care, little by little, the life and spark can be restored, much like a flower perking up with gradual hydration. “Watering the Flowers” is a saying that is near and dear to me, having used it in practice regularly with my patients and residents over the years. I am happy to be able to share my years of experience to help clients navigate through the challenges of recovery.
I am Dr. Monica Finocchiaro.
I provide my clients with comprehensive credentials as a health care navigator. I am a board-certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician (Physiatrist). I trained at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago where I was the Chief Resident. I went on to work in both private practice and academic medicine in Chicago. I was the medical director of the Rehabilitation Floor at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. I have also worked as a Medical Director for a prominent insurance company, evaluating patient coverage in the rehabilitation arena. Additionally, I have first-hand experience navigating health recovery as not only a caregiver, but also as a patient myself. This 360 degree view provides my clients with unsurpassed guidance, medical expertise, advocacy, and compassion, beyond what a traditional, non-MD healthcare navigator can provide.
I received my undergraduate degree in Biology from Harvard University and my M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.
